ECSSA holds a number of meetings on a regular basis throughout the
school year:
- Executive Meetings – are held on the first Monday of each
month. The Executive is comprised of the President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.
These meetings are held to discuss and form consensus on issues to be
brought to the Board of Directors to consider. The Employer Liaison Officer attends all Executive meetings.
- Board of Directors Meetings – are held on the first Wednesday
of each month at 5:00 p.m. at St. Joseph High School. The Board of Directors is comprised of the Executive, Employer
Liaison Officer and all official representatives of the Local. These
meetings are held to conduct all the business of the Local, to consider
items brought forward by the Executive and to vote on issues of concern
to the membership. All members are welcome to attend these meetings and ECSSA encourages
members to drop in and see what happens at these meetings.
- General Meetings – are held usually once in the fall and once
in the spring. All members interested attend these meetings. These
meetings are held to pass along important information to the membership,
hold votes when necessary, gather input from the members for
negotiations, allow members an opportunity to voice their concerns and
at the Spring meeting hold elections for Executive positions.
- Liaison Meetings – are usually held once each month. These meetings are usually attended by the President and the
Employer Liaison Officer and two representatives from the Human
Resources Department. Depending
upon items to be discussed, others may be invited to attend. The purpose of these meetings is to consider matters of mutual
concern and to promote harmonious relations.

As well, throughout the year, many other ECSSA meetings are held on an as needed basis. Committee meetings, additional Executive, Board of Directors, and
General meetings, Ratification meetings when a memorandum of agreement has been reached. All of these
meetings may be called at various times. Notice of meetings and agendas are sent to those concerned as per the
terms outlined in ECSSA’s By-Laws.
ECSSA, when requested, also sends representatives to many committees established by the School District. These meetings are attended by those selected by the Executive or
Board of Directors to represent ECSSA.
